We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to manage our brand identity and company-wide marketing strategy at a time of rapid growth for our business.

Consult Red is an employee-owned company and a trusted partner to some of the world's largest brands. We're an R&D technology partner that develops cutting-edge 'Internet of Things (IoT) smart, connected products, video and broadband end-user equipment streaming TV devices, networks and platforms. Connected devices and systems developed by Consult Red are currently in more than 30 million homes around the world.

Our story started in 2003 when five friends founded the company in Shipley, West Yorkshire. Since then, we've grown a lot. We work with the world's leading media operators, including Liberty Global (Virgin, UPC), Comcast (Sky) and AT&T (Directv), and in the last 12 months alone we’ve grown our team in the UK, Poland and the US by 40%. We're now over 220 people globally, working collaboratively to provide an industry-leading consultancy service across software development, hardware, embedded, and cloud technologies.

Overview:

Our business has grown dramatically over the past 15 years. What started as 5 Engineers working on video calling technology is now a global business with over 200 talented and versatile consultants, who support some of the World’s most prominent media and consumer electronics brands. Year-on-year we’ve grown our customer base and the scope of our operations, but we’re still only at the start of our journey.

Earlier this year we also transitioned to an employee ownership model and we’re now one of the pioneers of this new people-focused approach in our industry. We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager – preferably someone who understands the software or professional services space – to take ownership of all marketing strategy and activity across the group, to help us tell this story in a compelling way that strengthens our existing customer relationships and expands our reach into new markets and verticals.

You’ll need to be an expert storyteller, organiser, strategist, brand advocate, and content creator; ideally with an innovative, customer-centric approach and the ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

One of the key challenges for our Marketing Manager is to understand how the intricate work of our consultant adds value to our current and future end customers, and then to distil this understanding into powerful content and marketing messages that engage both new and existing customers alike.

You’ll need to develop a laser-focused knowledge of what makes our business, people, customers, and projects tick. You’ll then use that knowledge to help position RED as a supplier of choice in the market, by crafting innovative marketing messages and exciting campaigns, delivering them across a multitude of mediums, including web content, social media, video, industry exhibitions, and printed brochures.

As well as external B2B marketing, you’ll also be heavily involved with public relations and internal communications, and occasionally supporting the commercial team with customer proposals. You'll contribute to some exciting projects and will provide research, insight, and analysis for the Directors, to drive decision-making and to steer the commercial direction of the company.

Although you’ll need to work hard and challenge yourself, we’ve got big plans for the future, and the rewards and recognition for success will be significant. What you’ll need to bring:

  • Experience and knowledge of brand management in the technology space
  • Expert knowledge of digital marketing, including website management, SEO, PPC, inbound marketing, online advertising, and social media
  • The ability to create strong technical copy to promote premium software and hardware services
  • A track record of delivering measurable ROI on marketing activity
  • Attitude is everything in this role. You’ll need to be proactive, organised, and able to chart your own course with minimal direction.
  • A marketing qualification, such as CIM, would be beneficial, but by no means essential.
  • Experience in a professional services or consultancy environment would also be an advantage.

We believe in moving fast and keeping things simple.

We'll usually do a short first stage telephone interview. If that goes well, we'll want to set up a longer conversation to find out more. Where possible, we'll do a face-to-face interview in our offices, so that you can get a better feel for the company and your team. However, we understand the challenges of COVID19 and have adapted our business to be completely flexible around the current situation. This means that we may do some, or all, of the interview process over video using Microsoft Teams, Skype, or GoToMeeting.
