Consult Red is a trusted partner to the digital media industry and beyond, driving innovation and delivering support through the entire product development journey.
We apply our cutting-edge experience in software development, hardware, embedded and cloud technology to help companies in all sectors to deliver connected devices and systems.
Founded by five engineering leaders from Pace Micro in 2003, Consult Red has grown a strong reputation working with some of the world's leading Pay TV, media and OTT operators.
Since then, we have grown from being an embedded specialist in the media sector to a professional services provider working with companies in other industries such as Energy and Healthcare. We've applied our cutting-edge experience and talent in product development, hardware, embedded and cloud technology to help customers deliver connected devices and systems.
In 2020 we've increased our staff headcount by 15%. And we're looking to double that growth – to over 200 heads globally - by the end of the year. You can be a big part of that journey!
Currently, having taken their equipment, office chairs, and favourite coffee cups with them, our team members #stayathome and are working safely from there.
We don't sell products; we sell expertise. That means our technical bar is set very high, and we only hire the best. This makes recruiting for Red a real challenge, but a rewarding one which will take you out of your comfort zone every day.
As a Senior IT Recruiter, you'll provide a comprehensive recruitment service for some of our key programmes and projects. We recruit for Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Integrators, and Architects, amongst other things. You'll need to speak the lingo, and have considerable experience in technical recruitment already, to help you hit the ground running.
People with the right kind of expertise (C, C++, Java, Android, Embedded Linux) aren't easy to find. That means you'll need to be adept at proactive candidate search, using Linkedin Recruiter and other tools. You'll couple this with an honest, authentic approach and a real belief in adding value with every interaction.
Part of your role will be managing an extensive network of suppliers, including recruitment agencies, contractors, and other service providers. You should be confident managing these kinds of relationships, including dealing with any issues - whether practical or contractual - and negotiating terms on a variety of business-to-business agreements, whilst keeping an eye on all of the relevant rules and legislation.
This is a fast-moving and pressurised role, and our team deals with plenty of uncertainty. Our customer's needs and requirements can change and, when they do, we have to react quickly, providing solutions to tight deadlines and even tighter specifications. This means that hard work, resilience, innovation, and expectation management are our bread-and-butter.
To us, recruitment isn't just another business process. We're the first point of contact that many people will have with Red, so every interaction is important, and every conversation counts. We're growing at an incredible pace, and our biggest challenge is to continue to rapidly scale up our workforce, whilst staying true to these principles and standing out from the crowd in a competitive marketplace.
If you have the right kind of experience, and this sounds like the challenge for you, we’d love for you to apply below.
This role is initially a 6-month fixed-term contract, and we'd need you to start in November 2020 (or sooner, if you can).
We believe in moving fast and keeping things simple.
Once you submit your CV, we'll send you a short online form asking you to confirm a couple of details. Your application then goes directly to the Hiring Manager to review. We'll always try to come back to you within a few days.
We'll usually do a short first stage telephone interview. If that goes well, we'll want to set up a longer conversation to find out more. Where possible, we'll do a face-to-face interview in our offices, so that you can get a better feel for the company and your team. However, we understand the challenges of COVID19 and have adapted our business to be completely flexible around the current situation. This means that we may do some, or all, of the interview process over video using Microsoft Teams, Skype, or GoToMeeting.
However we do it, we want you to leave us with a real feel for the role and a sense of what it's like to work with us, so we're happy to spend some quality time to answer all of your questions.
